Parents should take precautions to make sure that their little goblins and princesses have a fantastic time! According to Kids.gov the top five Halloween safety tips for trick-or-treat are:
1. Make sure that your children can see in their costume. Masks can make it hard to see, so try face paint instead. Make sure that other people can see them in costume by dressing them in light colors or putting reflective tape on costumes so that cars can see them.
2. Does your child’s costume have a long cape or dress? Make sure it won’t make them trip and fall. You don’t want them to injure themselves or spill all the candy they’ve collected!
3. Plot out a trick or treat map. Figure out which houses you want to go to and how long you think you’ll be gone. Make sure you carry the map with you so you don’t get lost if you’re heading to unfamiliar territory.
4. Look at your child’s candy before they eat any of it. Throw out any candy that has an open or damaged wrapper.
5. Limit candy to a couple pieces each day so that your children don’t get sick. If you want to teach them how much candy is too much, let them play the Halloween Candy game.
If you’re still looking for the perfect costume, non-personalized Halloween orders can be placed until 10/22!
